Local Allotment owners beware!

Thieves and saboteurs operate on your allotments.

Two Men have been seen walking around the allotments late in the evening,  walking over and pulling up plants from peoples allotments.....

Also plants have been stolen from some of the allotments, is it these two men, or are there others.

One allotment owner said that they had planted their late fathers Dahlias on their allotment. But when it came to the anniversary of their fathers death, they went to cut some flowers for the cemetery, and their late fathers Dahlias had been Stolen! "I was heart broken" they said "I really wanted my father to see that we were still growing Dahlias".

Next time I'm around the area I will make sure I have my camera, to catch these people on film so we can stop these thieves once and for all.

As the current allotment secretary, I wanted to let you know about the 2009-10 allotment fees and also about an allotment meeting in Bletchingdon next week. I also enclose a copy of the rules including the addendum which is intended to ensure all parties are clear regarding plot usage as the plots are almost up to full occupancy.

Fees

This year's fees are £5 for a full plot, and £2.50 for a half plot (irrespective of size).

Meeting

We are holding the meeting twice in case some people cannot make the first date.

Therefore, you need only attend one meeting, whichever is the better date for you.

Thursday 12th March - 7pm

OR                        

Monday March 16th - 6.30pm

at the Bletchingdon Sports & Social Club- opposite the allotment field.

Meeting Agenda

·         Elect a committee to help run Allotments and Show for 2009 .

·         Ensure all are aware of addition to rules/code of practice and everyone has an up to date copy.

·         Notification and re-allocation of spare plots.

·         Collect Rents for 2009-2010

·         Update on what is happening up the allotment- re water-tanks, wall, show.

·         AOB
